Racing Against the Clock: Customer Gets Pre-Approved in Record Time

We love hearing back from our customers after they’ve settled into their new home. Today, Kathleen Kaun shares how we helped her get pre-approved in record time so she could submit an offer on a house when it mattered most.

My husband had recently received a promotion at his job, which involved relocating to Michigan. After searching for homes within the area we’d be moving to, we stumbled upon a house that had everything we were looking for—easy access to the expressway, a large yard and more space than our previous home. It was perfect! So perfect, in fact, that we knew the home wouldn’t stay on the market for long. If we wanted to be able to call this our home, we needed to move fast.

With a pre-approval letter in hand, we were ready to make an offer. With high hopes of having our offer accepted, we were disappointed to find out the seller wasn’t willing to negotiate an offer with an out-of-state pre-approval letter.

We knew there was another couple looking at the home, but had no idea whether they already submitted an offer. Time was of the essence and we were up against the clock to get a new letter of pre-approval from a mortgage lender in Michigan. Our realtor suggested we contact Ross Mortgage.

By the time we called Ross Mortgage, it was 5 o’clock on a Friday and the office was closed. The only thing we could do was leave a message stating the urgency of our request and hope that someone would return our call.

Within minutes, the loan officer we contact returned our call and was ready to help us get the pre-approval we needed to submit a new offer. They immediately began to collect our paperwork and process the pre-approval. With everything in order, they sent us a letter of pre-approval later that night. Soon thereafter, our realtor met us at the hotel we were staying at (by that point it was already 10 p.m.) with the paperwork for us to sign so we could submit our offer.

After what started out as a hectic home buying experience, I’m pleased to say Ross Mortgage helped us get back on track. Our offer was accepted that night, and we’re happily living in our new home.
