Ross Mortgage Corporation Opens First Office in Maryland
2018 is off to an eventful start at Ross Mortgage, and we have some exciting news to share regarding the growth of our company! As we continue to expand our presence across the Midwest and beyond, we are thrilled to announce the opening of our first office on the east coast! The office is located at 2741-D Fallston Road in Fallston, Maryland, and is just 30 minutes outside of Baltimore.
We know how important it is to work with a local lender who understands the market, which is why we brought local mortgage lending expert Thomas J. Barker Jr. (T.J. Barker) to serve as branch manager. With 13 years of mortgage lending experience, we feel he is the perfect fit to introduce the Mid-Atlantic region to the Ross Mortgage way, and know he will be a fantastic resource to homeowners and homebuyers in the area.
To help you get to know T.J. better, we sat down and asked him a few questions about his new role at Ross Mortgage. Here’s what he had to say!
What will you be responsible for as the branch manager?
In my new role, I will be responsible for overseeing office operations, originating loans and coordinating community outreach efforts. I love being able to connect with local real estate agents and residents in the area, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with them through Ross Mortgage. Because I am passionate about connecting with members of my community, I even lead a few programs that help foster those meaningful relationships.
What are you looking forward to most about representing Ross Mortgage in Maryland?
I’m honored to represent Ross Mortgage in the Baltimore market and look forward to guiding clients through the mortgage process by helping them identify loan options that fit their unique financial needs. The Bel Air area has a strong Veteran population due to its proximity to Aberdeen Proving Ground, so I am also excited to provide support to our local Veteran community on their journey to becoming homeowners. Additionally, I’m thrilled to introduce a number of zero down loan options to residents in the Bel Air area, including USDA Rural Development loans. Ross Mortgage has loans to fit every type of lifestyle, and I’m eager to find the perfect fit for each of my clients.
Why is Ross Mortgage the right fit for you?
After jumping into the mortgage industry, I spent more than 10 years trying to find a company that not only helped me build a sustainable career, but also had the same customer satisfaction-driven mindset as I did and allowed me to bring value to my local community.
Once I talked to Ross Mortgage, I realized that this is a company that is very similar to what my ideal employer looks like. Their dedication to continuing internal education, highly-regarded reputation and customer-oriented mentality are well aligned with who I am and what I want to bring to the Baltimore market.
What are your most notable career accomplishments to date?
I’m the lead coach of Loan Officer Acceleration and Leads Academy, a program I founded in 2016 that helps real estate agents and loan officers build their business repertoire through continuing education workshops focused on digital marketing, database management, property marketing and buyer/seller lead planning. I am also the founder and host of the Maryland Real Estate Show, which serves as a leading resource to consumers on how to make smart home buying decisions.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love spending time with my wife and three children. My two oldest children and I are really into martial arts, so the three of us spend most of our free time at Taekwondo!
